New Search Options :

What’s New from the 3^rd Edition?

In this edition we have made some major changes that makes your search much easier & faster and precise.

This includes the Advance Search options and District and Pin-code option in conjunction with the product search. This enables you to redefine your search without going back and forth. It also gives much more precise search results. This reduces the pains for the user to search through the huge data in the Gujarat Industries CD.

All Print options have also been modified so that any letter any company appears only once and not repeated.

Email option has been modified so that now it is not required for the user to have any email clients such as MS-Outlook to be on her machine.  The program in the CD itself sends the Email to all the selected companies.

How to use CD? :

Gujarat Industries Directory is very easy to use. To install the directory on your computer simply insert the CD in your

CD-Rom drive. The installation program will ask you whether you want to install the CD. Click Yes to Start Installation.  If the CD do not start automatically then go to Start > Run and type D:\mid\setup\setup.exe where (D:) is the CD-ROM drive of your machine. Change the drive letter with that of your machine.

Installation program will install the software on your hard drive. Click finish on the last screen. MID CD11 icon will appear on your desktop. Click on the icon to start the Program.

The CD contains very simple user interface to Search Products, Companies, Districts, Pin-Code.

It also contains utilities to search STD codes, ISD codes, Various Websites related to Gujarat/ India etc

Searching through Product List  :

To Search the companies by product just click on the Product search Button on the toolbar above.

The Product list will appear on the screen. Select the desired product by typing it in the textbox or just double click on the desired product or Click on Alphabetical Buttons to search by particular Alphabet.

The search result will be shown for the complete section of the desired product.

Searching from the List of Companies by Company Name :

Company search gives the user option to search a particular Company through the list of Companies in the database.

Just type in the desired company name in the Search Textbox, if it matches with the company in the database then the Company will be displayed selected on top in the list. Click search button on right side of the List to see the details of the selected Company.

Searching Companies through Pin Code and Area :

Pin code and Area Search gives the option of searching the companies Pin code wise. When you select Particular pin code it shows you the respective area for that Pin code.

Double Click on the selected Pin Code in the List or press Enter Key to search the selected Pin code.  

The Search result will show the number of Companies in the Selected Pin Code.

Searching Companies through Districts :

District search gives the user option to search a particular Company through the list of Districts in the database.

Just type in the desired District name in the Search Textbox, if it matches with the Districts in the database then the Company will be displayed selected on top in the list. Click search button on right side of the List to see the details of the selected Districts.

How to view Details of the Company? :

When any of the four searches are used you get the list of Companies as per the search criteria. The Company Names in red have their Advertisements on the CD. You can see the Details such as Contact Person, Address, Telephone, and Product description when you select a particular company from the list of Companies.

You can see the Advertisement of the Company on CD by Double Clicking on the Company Name. The advertisement will open in the default browser on your machine.

If you are connected to Internet you can actually see the website of the Company. You can also send email to the Company by directly clicking on the Email link. This will open your default Email Client. Type the message and send to the Company.

* Advance Search in Products  :

When you have search any particular product from the Product list you get the result from that product group. This means that there are Companies who are making the affiliated products to the product searched by you.
If you want only the Companies, which are making the precise product you have searched then click on the Advance search where you get the list of related products. Click on any of the product and you will get the list of Companies who are precisely making that product.
When you want to revert back to your original search just close the advance search window.

* Advance Search in Districts and Pin Code :

Advance Search in Districts and Pin codes enables you to redefine the search from one single window.

When you select the product from the Product search, you get the list of Companies making that product. You can further drill down in this search with the help of District search. Click on the District search and you will get the list of Districts. If you select a particular District you get the list of Companies in that District making that Product. You can further reduce your search by selecting the Pin codes from that particular district. When you select a pin code you get the result of the Companies who are manufacturing particular product and are in the District and pin code you have selected. When you are through your search just close the District and Pin code windows to revert back to your original search.

Bookmark Option :

Bookmark is a unique facility given to the user to save the trouble of searching the required companies time and again. When you search some particular product of your interest and you found say 300 companies. Out of these 300 companies you reduced the companies required by you to say 100. After selecting these 100 companies click on Bookmark button below to add these companies to bookmark. The program will ask you whether you want to add the selected companies to Bookmark list. Click “Yes” to add the Companies to the Bookmark list.

If in future you want to see the Bookmark list just click on the Bookmark Button directly. It will show you the list of Companies in the Bookmark list.

You have the option of Email, Print to this selected list of Bookmark.

What Printing Options are available? :

There are several Printing Options available on the Gujarat Industries Directory CD.

1)      Mail Merge option DH_Print Mail Merge

2)      Printing Detail report of Companies IDH_Print Detail Report

3)      Printing Mailing Labels IDH_Print Mailing Labels
         
   
* Creating Mail Merge Document

You can create your own Mail merge document by following procedure.
Click on the Mail Merge button in the Print Option IDH_Printing options Text box with a sample letter will appear below the list of Selected companies with sample letter in it.
Change the letter as per your requirements. You can change the fonts by clicking on the arrow next to Fonts textbox and Select the required Font type and size from the list of fonts available on your system. Change the margins by clicking on the Set Margins button.
After you finish click on Print Mail merge button on the left side of your letter textbox. The letters will be printed to the printer with the Company Name, Contact Person, and Address fields from the Database on top of your letter.

* Printing Detail Report :

Printing Detail report allows you to Print all the details of the Companies selected. This includes the Company Name, Contact Person, Address, Telephone number, Fax Number, Email and website Address etc.To create Detail report select the desired companies form the list of Companies and click on the Print Detail Report Button. The detail report will appear in Print Preview form. Click the Printer icon below on the Preview window to Print the Report.

* Printing Mailing Labels :

Mailing Labels are used when you want to do mailing to many companies. To print Mailing Labels select the desired number of companies from list of Companies. Click on the Mailing Labels button. Preview will be shown to you of the selected Mailing labels. Depending on the setting of your printer Labels will be either in 8 X 2 format or 8 X 3 Format. Click printer icon on the bottom of the Preview window to print the mailing labels

* Sending enquiries through E-Mail :
 
The program on the CD is designed to send multiple emails to the Companies in the CD Database.
You can select the desired number of Companies from the list of Companies.
Fill in your Name in the Sender’s Name, Type your Email address in the Sender’s email Address box, type the Subject of the Email such as ‘Company Profile of XYZ Company’ in the subject box.
Type the desired matter of email in the Letter text box below or copy and paste the matter from some other file.
Click on the send email button to send emails.
Program will check the connection for the Internet. After confirming that your PC is connected to Internet it will start sending Emails one by one. The progress bar will show you the progress of the Email sending operation.
After the sending is successful you will get the Message ‘Email send successfully.’

* STD / ISD Search :

This facility will help you to locate STD Codes from India and ISD Code from all over world. We have tried to solve your query 100% through this medium.
1) Click on "Search STD code", here you will get STD CODE of your desired city by typing CITY NAME or you will get CITY by typing STD CODE.
2) Click on ISD Button, you will get desired country by typing out ISD CODE, and plus particular CITY of that COUNTRY by typing out initial alphabets of that CITY. List of matching results will appear in the table below
